  • A Private Equity house approached Alumni to prepare a value-creation plan for a used telecom equipment recycling and reseller business. Their initial ideas needed further due diligence and translation into an executable program plan with clear links to EBITDA drivers.

    We delivered a 200-day value creation plan focused on eight key EBITDA growth drivers. Top-line drivers included acquisitions, geographic expansion, incremental growth in decommissioning, and accelerated growth of other offerings. Bottom-line drivers targeted reductions in sales costs, general and administrative expenses, cost of goods sold, and acquisition cost synergies.

    The client benefitted from options demonstrating EBITDA upside ranging from 4x to 8x the base case. The plan transitioned the business from trading to a solution model, achieving market dominance, expanding offerings, increasing ESG and finance-focused engagement, and extending geographical coverage.

    Additionally, the operating model was refined to enhance scalability, effectiveness, and efficiency, develop leadership, build a high-performing team, embed data-driven decision-making, and retain talent through development pathways and career progression.
